Trumpets

There are many mysteries about God, the Bible, the past, present and future that we think about but have no answers. The Creator is the only one who is omniscient, but He has revealed many things to us. He has also withheld information about many things. The Bible tells us that the secret things belong to the Lord.

The preceding photo was taken of a Torah Scroll from Italy. It was probably written in the 1800s or earlier. It has been re-lettered to keep it kosher. The verve highlighted is Deuteronomy 29:29 in the English Bible and Deuteronomy 29:28 in the Hebrew Bible. The verse begins with the arrow and ends with the yellow dot. There is uncertainty about why there are dots over eleven dots letters letters in the words “unto us and unto our children”.

Very few words in Leviticus 23 give any details about this feast. However there are two passages of Scripture in the New Testament that give a clear understanding of what will take place when God is ready for the feast of the 7th month the first day. The chronological order of the feasts make it clear something very important is going to happen between the Feast of Weeks, Pentecost, and the “Time of Jacob’s Trouble” the Tribulation.

The Feast of Trumpets is feast number four in the chronology chart.

Looking in hindsight with the New Testament open we can say for certain we understand many of the details about the first three feasts. This includes the understanding about the Feast of Unleavened bread which is in conjunction with the Feast of Passover.

Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. … Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed. Luke 22

There are many interpretations about the Feast of Trumpets. To some it is a very solemn preparation for the great and dreadful day of Judgment at the Day of Atonement to others it is a long-awaited joyful reunion with the Lord in the air which precedes the “Time of Jacob’s Trouble”. To understand it properly we must understand what this feast is not. According to The Creator, it is not the head of the year, Rosh Hashanah hnsh sar as some believe. Someone has tampered with the Written Word of God in the Jewish calendar.

The following verses are not inserted to be disrespectful to the Jewish “Sages”, but to show that by changing or adding to the written Word of God the people will never find their way to forgiveness by the promised Messiah “Jesus of Nazareth”.
“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. Acts 10:34-43

When this feast takes place our bodies which have long ago turned to dust will be gathered again and God will turn it into a “glorified body which will reunite with our spirit.

But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:34-58
